Carmel Corn for the Stars

Today is the Oscars. I thought I'd make you all a special treat to eat while you're watching the Academy Awards. Why? because you are a star to me. *wink* Have a wonderful evening...who will you be wearing? (I think I'll be wearing Adidas and gap).

Pop 6 quarts (+or-) pop corn. If you don't have an air popper, you can use 2 1/2 bags of buttered microwave popcorn.
When the sugars and corn syrup start boiling, add the butter and sweetened condensed milk. Stir constantly until,

The temp reaches 230 degrees or, softball stage.

Pour the caramel on the popped corn until coated completely.

Golden caramel corn chewy and sweet. Perfect for a night of TV.

Caramel Corn
* we like our caramel corn chewy

1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 cup Karo light corn syrup
1 cup butter
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp vanilla

Combine sugars and corn syrup in 2 quart pan. Bring to a rolling boil and add butter and sweetened condensed milk. Cook stirring constantly until mixture is at softball stage on candy thermometer or tested in cold water. Remove caramel from heat and add vanilla. Pour over popcorn until coated completely.
