Halloween Wreath

I needed a wreath that looked Halloween-ish. Not a fall wreath but a good black and orange only-used-for-Halloween-wreath.
I saw this wreath on the Our Best Bites blog. I loved it so I thought I'd give it a try. I gathered the supplies which include: a 8-10 inch Styrofoam wreath, black tulle, assorted flowers, and a spool of orange crinkled ribbon (it was wired but after I cut the length I wanted, I pulled the wire out to make the flowers).
I bought a spool of tulle in the Christmas section of Hobby Lobby (40 % off!) and thought I would have oodles left over. No. I had nothing left over. I used every inch of the 100 yards!
I measured about 22 inches on my counter and marked it on both sides with masking tape.
I measured it...
and cut it...
and ended up with a stack of tulle strips. I would recommend cutting them all first and tying second. At first, I cut and tied, cut and tied...then I figured it out.
Take two strips, wrap it around the Styrofoam wreath and tie in a double knot; right over left, left over right. Then move knot to the outside.
Just getting started.
Looking better...
Am I almost done?...
NO! Push the tulle knots together and I'm about a quarter of the way done. Keep knotting and pushing the tulle together until completely wrapped around the Styrofoam.
Add black, deep purple and orange flowers and feathers if desired. I made the orange flowers with the ribbon I bought (tutorial here). Just fold a length of ribbon in half and roll it up gluing as you go. They look pretty but...
I liked mine better plain. Use a length of orange ribbon (wire not removed) to loop around the wreath. Make a bow and hot glue it to the base of the ribbon.
The perfect Halloween wreath.
